August 3 (By Australia's standards anyway)

Tah dah! I managed to get some free WiFi (see below).

Well it's official. I don't know where I am, when I am or how the heck I got here.

Not entirely true. I'm waiting in Sydney airport waiting for a short domestic flight to get me to Moruya.

My re-booked flight with United Airlines went off smoothly and theCheck  almost 15 hour flight wasn't too bad. I slept for most of it. Which I suppose is good. I am tired but could be worse  suppose.

I was very fortunate. I was booked in the very last row of the flight, at a window, where there were two seats. My seat mate was a very nice gentleman who lives in Melbourne and was returning from Vancouver, British Columbia where he had completed some sort of sailing trip to Alaska. He arranged for himself to move into one of the few rows that had a few empty seats so I was very lucky to have two seats to "stretch" into and rest.
Perhaps an angel was looking out for me on this leg of the trip.

Sydney airport is busy, though not as busy as the one in Atlanta. I think it may have seemed busy because the check in area is a bit smaller.

I wanted to change but the washrooms were the size of portable toilets. Barely room for me let alone my baggage. Which reminds me, my checked luggage got here with seemingly no trouble from the cancelled flight. Thank heavens.

The WiFi rate here at the airport is insane. $5 for $15 minutes. If my experience with the last couple airports is the same, my netbook won't pick it up so no way I'm going to waste another dollar. I managed to find a promotional computer that gives free access... but a "disconnect" warning comes up every fifteen seconds (with the advertisement) so I merely took the time to let Peter know I have survived and arrived.

I learned that I need to re-learn how to order coffee here in a country that drinks espresso and cappucinos. I went to McDonald's and ordered a coffee double cream double sugar and the woman looked at me like I was an alien. "We don't do that EVER," she said. I just said, "Yes, yes, just do what you can." The result was good but she certainly thought I was odd. I realize now I need to order "filter coffee" to get what I want.

Okay, that can be done.

I am about to go and order some asian noodle soup before my flight. I should fare better than with the coffee, I hope.

Speaking of learning I have learned I do NOT like travelling nor am I very good at it.
I suppose a trip with a few less flight transfers might have been a better choice for my second time travelling alone.
Ah well. Different strokes for different folks.

I don't have any exciting photos yet, but I may embed them within this existing blog so far when I get to Peter's place... if he lets me go on the computer.

(A few minutes later... nothing seems to pass the time quickly these past few days)...

The soup was terrible. And cost $15. OUCH!

I wonder what Peter is doing while I sit here wondering what to do with the next few hours. Probably cleaning his car out or something.

XO

I won't tell you how many hours it took ... maybe the same amount of time you spent sitting around in airports if that makes you feel any better.
